BDC dominates on the court!

On Tuesday 1 November, Bishop Druitt College hosted the North Coast Independent Schools (NCIS) Basketball Gala Day. The Primary school competition was played at BDC and the Secondary competition at Sportz Central.

There were 4 schools playing in both the Primary girls and boys competition and 8 teams in the Secondary girls and 9 in the boys.

Bishop Druitt have always dominated the Primary girls games and did so again this year, giving away less than 10 baskets all day. The Primary boys were defending the title of winning it in 2015. On the way they lost one game to Emmanuel Anglican College in the round games and then met them again in the final, which finished in an 18 all draw.

As with the Primary girls, the Secondary girls also dominate the competition and did so again in 2016 winning all their games convincingly to bring home the shield. The shield has always eluded the Secondary boys, but 2016 was to be different. The boys played hard all day to be the outright winners after some close games during the day.

Congratulations to all the BDC teams for bringing home the 4 shields on the day.

Thankyou to Michelle Walker, Emily Crampton, Carl Crook and Tom Murtha for coaching on the day and to Tim Higgins for doing most of the organisation while I was away at camp. The day was a great success.
