Bill Turner matches so close

Bill Turner Trophy

On Thursday the U15 Bill turner girls played the area final against McCauley College from Grafton. The game was extremely even with the score at full time being 2 all, Reggie and Jana goal scorers. Going into extra time with golden goal and drop off rules for 20 mins both teams had their chances and when finally down to 8 players the score was still 2 all. So into a penalty shoot out, the score was still even after five shots each. Unfortunately McCauley’s 6th shot broke the balance and they came out winners on the day.

The game was very hard and the girls should feel very proud of the way they played. Thank you to Mr Klipin for coaching us again this year.

Bill Turner Cup

On Thursday the under 15s boys travelled to Coffs Harbour Christian Community School to play in the 5th round of the Bill Turner Cup. Solomon scored 2 in the first half while the defence stayed strong to go into half time 2-0 up. Christian Community came back strong in the second half to throw the game into golden goal extra time. The boys dominated the possession moved the ball around well. After a hard fort game Zyggy was able to break the dead lock and score the match winning goal. Both teams played a long and hard game with great respect towards each other and the umpires. The boys have now qualified for the regional final against Mackillop College, Port Macquarie. Thank you to tom Murtha and Tim Higgins who have taken over the coaching role from Martin Kelleher.
