Last February 10 Secondary teams and 6 Primary teams, (that is 150 students playing basketball) took to the courts in the local Coffs Harbour Basketball Association school competition.

BDCCyclonesAll teams played with determination and enjoyed taking part in the game and learning new skills, rather than the ‘being in it to win it’ attitude. There were lots of new players in this competition and it was great to see the more experienced players help the new ones at training and also during the game.

12 BDC teams made it into the semi finals with 6 teams going on to play in grand finals. Three of these grand finals were fought out between two BDC teams.

Congratulations to the following teams that made semi finals:

3/4 Boys, Bobcats
5/6 Boys, BallersIMAG0760

Thank you to all the coaches and managers who give up their valuable time week after week to support our teams. Without them BDC would not be able to take part in this competition. Thank you also to the parents who step up when the coaches and managers are not available to assist with the teams.P2200328

The new competition has now commenced and runs until the end of Term 4. I still have spaces in the 3/4 Boys, 5/6 boys and Year 9 boys teams. If you are interested in your son playing in any of these age groups please email bhilton@bdc.nsw.edu.au
