Elite training in Hungary

Georgia Ensbey year 12 is travelling this month to attend an elite training camp in Hungary prior to competing at the U19 Modern Pentathlon World Championships in Portugal.

Last year Georgia was selected by Modern Pentathlon Australia to join their Youth Olympic Games Development Squad. She travelled to Hungary and attended a specialist training camp prior to competing at the 2017 U19 World Championships in Prague.

She then competed at the Oceania Championships in Japan in September and is now ranked 3rd in the Oceania region.

Georgia attends 2 or 3 training sessions a day before and after school and also on weekends to maintain the level of fitness required for all of the disciplines of her demanding sport.

Unfortunately, Modern Pentathlon Australia does not have any funding to assist their Youth Representatives to train and compete. All costs are met by her family, with some assistance from our generous local community.

Georgia is a very conscientious student and takes her training and academic commitments very seriously, last year she achieved a band 6 in SOR 1 on top of her international commitments.

Well done Georgia, we are so proud of your achievements.
